Inner Axis

What makes an action right

What you look at first when you decide an action is right or wrong.

When you judge whether an act was right, what are you really weighing?

Consequentialist
Look at the results — outcomes are what make an act good or bad.
Duty-based
Some acts are right or wrong in themselves, whatever the outcome.
Virtue-based
Ask what a person of good character would do; actions and character shape each other.

Not how moral a person you are — it's which kind of reason moves you, not how good you are.

An axis is a spectrum, not a box. A reading places your answers toward a pole — and only when you said enough to place them; otherwise it leaves the axis open.
